India Contributes $37.64 Million to 2025 UN Budget

India has demonstrated its commitment to the United Nations by contributing $37.64 million to the UN Regular Budget for 2025. This contribution places India among the 35 member states that met the 30-day deadline for full payment.   

The UN Committee on Contributions verified India’s payment on January 31, 2025, earning India a place on the UN’s “honor roll” for timely contributions.   
UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, speaking on behalf of Secretary-General António Guterres, expressed gratitude for India’s prompt payment, acknowledging India’s consistent record of fulfilling its financial obligations.   
India’s timely payment underscores its support for multilateralism and global governance, reinforcing its dedication to the UN’s mission. UN General Assembly President Philemon Yang, during an interview with PTI, also commended India’s consistent fulfillment of its financial responsibilities as a UN member. This timely contribution reflects India’s longstanding commitment to strengthening global governance through both financial and diplomatic channels.
