Vicky Kaushal’s Film Chhaava Crosses ₹241 Crore in Week 2

Mumbai: Chhaava, the historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, is maintaining its strong performance at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film centers on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the iconic Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Box Office Success

As per early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava earned ₹22.50 crore net in India on its second Friday, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹241.75 crore. The film had an impressive opening with ₹31 crore on its first day, followed by a solid weekend haul of ₹37 crore on Saturday and ₹48.5 crore on Sunday.

Even during the weekdays, Chhaava maintained robust numbers. It saw an unexpected boost on Wednesday, collecting ₹32 crore. By the close of its first week, the film had accumulated ₹219.25 crore net in India.

On the international front, Chhaava has surpassed ₹310.50 crore globally, establishing itself as one of the top-grossing films of the year.

Vicky Kaushal, who portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the film, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the audience for the film’s success. About the Film

Chhaava is an adaptation of the Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant and is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The movie highlights the courage and sacrifices of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai Bhonsale, Sambhaji’s wife, while Akshaye Khanna portrays the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film also features Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Vineet Kumar Singh in supporting roles.

Released on February 14, Chhaava has been granted tax-free status in Goa and Madhya Pradesh, further boosting its box office earnings.

As Chhaava enters its second week, analysts predict it will maintain its momentum and could soon cross ₹300 crore in domestic earnings. The film’s strong performance continues to capture audiences, with expectations of more success in the coming days.
